| Well, got my health card done and turned it, submitted my local background check yesterday, and did my in-processing today. Next week I have my new employee orientation for the teen center on friday and finishing on monday and I will officially start working at the teen center. My last day at the kennels will be this saturday.
Today is my 22nd b-day, nothing too special going on. Probably just go out to Platters tonight so I can get my gyro on. I'm sooo glad I found out they make gryos there. I've gone sooooooooooo long without a real gryo. Maybe they'll even have a good greek salad there too. Like I need all that anyway. I've gotten a little soft around the edges since coming here. Everyone I work with thinks I'm skinny, but you know me, I'm really self critical and I feel like a porker. But eh, what can you do?
I absolutely love stuff from the brand Odwalla. I love their different kinds of food bars. So far my faves are the mocha-walla, choco-walla, strawberry pomegranate bar, and the berries go-mega bar. They're great for a quick and nutritious breakfast on the go. And their juices are fucking delish. I think my fave is the Super Food drink. Even though it looks like I'm drinking mud, it tastes soooo fucking good. They should make chocolate and vanilla shakes too. What I like best about them is that they are made from all natural organic stuff, and there's no chemical preservatives and shit like that in it.

| I got the job! I found out on Tuesday. I just have to make an appointment at occupational medicine to get my health card updated since it expires every year. And then I'm on my way to better pay and benefits. Plus even though my JCI is expired on my car, I can take my time getting it done since I can drive it on base without it being current. Currently my job is on Kadena and if the gate guards see the my car isn't current, I would have to park it near the gate until I call a tow truck to take to to Typhoon Motors and leave it there until I get the JCI done. But since I'm going to be working on this base again, I don't really have to worry about it too much.
Kadena AFB opened up their new BX a couple weeks ago. It's the second largest AAFES BX in the world. I think the biggest is in North Carolina or something. I like it for the most part. I just wish that the cash registers weren't where they are. It's kinda annoying that the main stairwell/escalators split them up, right where they also check for ID's and stuff. They should just check for ID's at the bottom of the stairs so that it doesn't cause a huge cluster-fuck at the top of the stairs. I can tell that people are gonna be stealing stuff easily.
I'm just glad that the concession mall is on the bottom floor, and one of the booths is selling hookah and hookah supplies. I like the one I have cause it works, it's just not aesthetically pleasing. They have a really pretty green one that has some hand painted designs on the side for only ¥7300. Even though it's a little smaller than the one I have now, I'd still like to have a mini hookah for ease of transportation around a room, especially when sharing with a group of people. I got some natural herbal shisha the other day that tastes wonderful when smoked, and it doesn't have any of the tar or nicotine of regular shisha. Plus I got some natural charcoal made from coconut shells so it burns cleaner without an odor.
My little kitty is getting so big. She first came into the kennels as a stray when she was probably around two or three weeks old. So she was too young to be left in a kennel all by herself. I fostered her, bottle feeding her, and as most people don't know, you have to wipe their bottom with a warm wet rag to make them use the bathroom until they figure out how to control it themselves. So I did that for about a month, and I was supposed to take her back to the kennels and leave here there until vet day so she could get her first set of shots, but when I put her in the kennel and left the room and came back she looked sooooooo sad. So, I decided to adopt her. She's my little shadow. Everywhere I go she has to go too. She's pretty feisty, and likes to take flying leaps off of things, so I named her Fyrefly. She loves playing tag and hide-n-seek with Chewi, my older male kitty. He's a fluffy black and white "tuxedo" kitty. Lol though he looks like his right "sleeve" got ripped off 'cause his right arm is all white. And his face looks like he's wearing a batman mask.
Now time for picshas! The week I took her home. When she ate from it her ears would twitch as she drank, it was so cute!
I love her orange middle. It's thinner in this side, but the other side has a huge orange patch.
BIG yawn... around two months old.
She's so cute.
It looks all red because of my red curtains, but he used to hate her and then I found them sleeping in the chair on top of clean laundry together.
I like how this one came out.
Cutest pic of Chewi, this one's kinda old though, I think it was from October last year.
The last time we were under TCCOR 3 from a typhoon being near, we got these beautiful skies
On the day of Beltane we were going to use the group's beach for the ritual, but the beach was full of trash from the ocean, so we decided to hold it at the religious education center instead. We were following someone else back, and we passed by this big river or channel, not sure, and we saw these hung across it. It was so cool looking, it was for some Japanese holiday.
My camera didn't do a very good job of capturing just how blue the skies are here. I mean they are like cobalt blue. It's soooo pretty!

| Hello my long forgotten xanga. Just an update on how things have been. I'm still working at the kennels, but I had an interview at the teen center, and I want that job more. It's a more relaxed environment, and I could actually get the chance to get to know the youth and teens there. Plus the pay and benefits are better than working in a flex position like at the kennels. (flex has no benefits, and you're not guaranteed hours, no overtime/holiday pay or shit like that).
I now attend a pagan circle that meets on saturday nights. Most of the people there are genuine, and pretty cool. There's a few fakes there and they are annoying, but it's an open group so there's no getting rid of them. I'm just glad that two of them PCS'd off the island, now hopefully the rest of us can have the opportunity to have a productive class and learn something for once. Samhain should be interesting. It looks to be that we'll be planning it all month.
Nothing too interesting going on around here. Just dodging typhoons, and being lazy. Ciao for now.

| I got inked last week. Just two more days and I can stop having to wash and do ointment twice a day. The sensation was very interesting. The vertical lines weren't so bad, but the horizontal ones felt like she was taking a dull knife and dragging it across my back. Either side of my spine almost had no pain what-so-ever, but right on top and when the needle hit bone, oh dear god lol. But I've dealt with much worse pain than that, so it's wasn't horrible. Picture time! Just a few...
 Here's the tattoo...
 ... and a close up.
Me just after dying my hair. I hope I can make it look that way again when I re-do it.
Cubero, Highland, Murphy, John, Me, Havlock, and Cocco at The Macaroni Grill here on base christmas eve. Cocco's family was visiting and bought a three course meal for all of us. How nice is that?
I dunno what the fascination with these things are. They are all over Kokusai Street hear in Okinawa.
 Another creepy fruit baby.

| Konichiwa from Okinawa!
I know I never update this damn thing. Japan is great so far. The house kicks ass. Things are going very well. I'll put some pics up later from the places I've been so far and the awesome New Year's party we had. I'm out.
